I’ve been worried about all of my favorite local bakeries, but how in the world is Long’s going to manage their line? They have 20 people in line on a slow day.

True, but there is normally an armed security guard and at least one manned, marked/unmarked LEO car sitting in plain sight. I’m sure they’ve got it sorted.

I'll have to check that out when I'm there for the 500. This will be the first memorial day weekend since 1996, that I'll be at home. It's gonna be really weird.

Indianapolis is blessed with 4 top notch[*] donut shops . Does nothing good for my waistline, but much good for my morale.
When, of course, I can actually visit one.
[*] I’m only counting bakeries that make old school glazed yeast and variations thereof. There are some specialty donut shops, but to my mind, if you can’t make a glazed yeast donut that makes your customers want to binge until they’re diabetic , all the maple bacon icing in the world won’t make a difference.

I’m also a fan of simple glazed donuts. Often the best kind.
